  • Emanuel "Boo" Milton , Principal, Cure with Love Strategies

    Emanuel is a strategist and creative who finds gaps and opportunities for development in social conditions. Emanuel has an extensive knowledge of communications and marketing from his tenure as a radio personality at Cumulus Media’s MAX 94.1 with a #1 Neilson reported show and as a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the College of the Arts with a degree in Music Business. Using his public image and voice to connect the public with key recourse to thrive Emanuel shifted his work to building out immediate and sustainable strategies to provide relief and support to communities. This was the birth of Cure with Love Strategies LLC. Since its start in 2020, Cure with Love has distributed over 3,000 physical units of social emotional learning kits, connected 90 youth with optical health care, and advised multiple leaders in nonprofits, government, and youth services in effective impact.

    Emanuel “Boo” has been highlighted and recognized by the Obama Foundation, America’s Promise Alliance, LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, The Global Business Coalition for Education and local media outlets.

  • Dominique Johnson ,M.A. PLMFT , Lead Facilitator for C.H.I.L.L.

    Dominique received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling at Liberty University. Dominique is an individual who desires to partner with couples and aspiring couples as they journey through their unique avenues of love. She believes in providing a safe space for individual’s hearts to be heard and understood. Although difficulties are a reality, Dominique believes in the resilience of love. Through her training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, she has gained the skills necessary to assist couples in de-escalating and re-engaging back into their relationships. She is a trained administrator for both the Pre-pare/Enrich and Gottman couples reboot. In addition to relational counseling, Dominique also believes in assisting families in creating cohesion in the home. “Each member is affected by the other. What one person does or does not do affects the entire family unit. Each member must actively open themselves up to vulnerability, to being loved, to being told the truth, to being apart, to actually belonging. This is family.” Dominique is trained in Parenting with love and Logic which assist parents in a non-argumentative style of parenting that has proven to be affective throughout the years. Her age range of counseling is (5 years +) as Dominique is passionate about the health of the entire family unit. In addition to these areas of focus, Dominique has also assisted problematic youth with difficulties such as depression, explosive anger, anxiety, and severe life changes. Whatever the difficulty, Dominique believes that healing is much easier with someone by your side.

  • Anna West, PhD , Research and Development Lead for C.H.I.L.L.

    Over the span of twenty-three years, Dr. Anna West has co-created and led community projects that live at the intersections of community writing, youth voice, critical research, public education, and social change. She is proud to come from an intergenerational network of educators and organizers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she remains committed to nurturing our community’s collective genius. She holds a PhD in English Education from Louisiana State University, where she was awarded the 2018 Distinguished Dissertation Award in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and an M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she received the 2011 Arts-in-Education Intellectual Contribution Award. Her collaborative research and writing projects have appeared in Harvard Educational Review (2011), At Our Best: Building Youth-Adult Partnerships in Out-of-School Settings (2020), and the forthcoming Strategies and Perspectives on Social Justice Work (in-press). She is the 2022 recipient of the East Baton Rouge Mayor-President's Community Impact Award in the field of education.

  • Faith Carey, Program Manger for Write Time

    Faith Carey is an arising young professional with a solid foundation in interdisciplinary studies from Louisiana State University, complemented by minors in business management, digital marketing, and political science. Her professional journey commenced with remarkable success in the digital marketing realm, notably steering two thriving eyelash businesses – one in extensions and the other in online e-commerce. Faith's expertise further flourished during her tenure as the Director of Marketing and Operations for a prominent consulting company. Following this, she transitioned into a role as a digital creator, specializing in empowering small businesses to execute and expand their online presence. Beyond her professional endeavors, Faith is passionately engaged in community outreach and development, exemplifying a holistic approach to her impactful work.
